September 11 commemoration
I remember September 11, 2001, very well — even though, as with the Challenger disaster, I have intentionally never watched footage of the towers’ collapse. (It’s been impossible to avoid still images of both events.) I support the decision to have today’s ceremonies at the Trade Center site exclude speeches by politicians. One relatives’ group said “Banning the governors of New York and New Jersey from speaking is the ultimate political decision,” which… yeah, it’s a political decision, but hardly the ultimate political decision, and it’s in the direction of de-escalating rather than escalating.
Now when can we get rid of the PATRIOT Act?
